Seatbelts are the most common and well known afety device in a vehicle, yet thousands of young kids are injured every year by them.

There are several reasons why:

1.Children’s bone structures are not fully developed

2.Seatbelt are not adjusted correctly to accomadate the energy transfer during the collision

3. Inproper use of seatbelt harness

Types of Injuries:

A childs bone structure is not fully developed. A child can not handle the sudden impact of pressure to the body. When the bones mold to the impact, they allow for the pressure to penetrate to the childs internal organs. This can cause many internal organ problems, along with all of the bone trauma.

How to reduce injuries

1. Follow all age and weight appropiate laws for your state. Children shoud always be protected by a car seat or a booster seat

2. As the CEO of Bumper to Bumper Collision, it has become my personal mission to educate parents of the risks they are taking each time they take their child on the road. Please pass the information that you have learned on to others to help make Phoenix, Arizona a safer place to live.

Remember, always put your kids in the proper age and weight adjusted restraint system.
